In a dominant homecoming performance, IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. (24-0, 21 KOs) stopped an overmatched Carlos Ocampo (22-1, 13 KOs) in the very first round of the Showtime Championship Boxing main event from Frisco, Texas inside The Ford Center at The Star on Saturday night.
Ocampo came in as a huge underdog and Spence wasted little time showing his dominance. In the final seconds of the first round, Spence landed a clean, well-placed and nasty left hook to the body that crumpled the challenger. Ocampo fell to his knees as referee Laurence Cole counted the 22-year-old Mexican out as he never made a definitive move to get to his feet.
