Speaker Chambers Pays an Historic Visit to Maryland

Dr. Bhofal Chambers, Speaker of the Republic of Liberia 54th National Legislature, on 26 July 2018 arrived in Pleebo, Maryland County to a heroic welcome from citizens of the County. Dr. Chambers is Representative of District #2 of the Pleebo-Sodoken District and was returning for the first time since his election as Speaker in January this year.

The Speaker used the visit to engage with his people who entreated him to prevail on Central Government for a vocational institution in the county to train the youths in various disciplines to improve their chances on the job market.   The Speaker assured the citizens that the Government was doing everything within its powers to ensure relief is brought to the people of Liberia economically, and that the deplorable roads in the South East was a top priority for the Government. He told them to exercise patience as the Government of President Weah was working around the clock to develop the country.

Speaker Chamber donated medical equipment and other supplies value at US$3,000.00 to the Pleebo Public Health Center, and L$1.5Million towards a scholarship scheme for students of the district. The Speaker use the visit to engage with management of all companies in the district to see how best to improve the working conditions of workers.
