Training for the preparation of Liberia’s Lone Star for their final qualifying match against D R Congo has reportedly been suspended.

State radio, ELBC, reported Tuesday the decision to suspend training was reached because local clubs have pulled their players from the training camp in order to focus on preparations for the domestic league scheduled to start soon. There are 9 players from LISCR on the national team, with BYC also having a sizable number of players.

Liberia is scheduled to play D R Congo in their final group match on March 22, a game in which they must avoid a defeat and hope that the result in the other group match goes in their favor.

While Liberia gives preference to their domestic league, South Africa is reported to have suspended their domestic league to allow players on their national team to train with the Bafana Bafana in preparation for their final game.
