The Gypsy King, 31, was hurt badly by a left hook which caught him flush above the right eye.
He managed to battle on for the full 12 rounds and earned a unanimous points decision.
But Fury did not hold a press conference and instead was taken straight to hospital to get his eye patched up, with suggestions he may need plastic surgery to fix him up.
He has a two-inch gash on the eyebrow and a slit on his eyelid and will need to allow them to fully heal before he steps back in the ring for sparring.
It surely rules out a warm-up fight for Fury in December as he looks towards his rematch with Deontay Wilder in February.
But dad John Fury is worried about the long-term impact of the cuts.
The former pro said: “I knew there was a problem after the first round, there was no snap in his punches.
“It was a very untidy affair.
